alright i'm getting my '90 NA project car on the road, finally, and the suspension seems a little loose around the corners; not what i heard about the handling on these cars. the previous owner replaced struts w/ kyb's and i dunno about the springs. how often do the struts/ springs need to be replaced? whats a good set of springs for handleing, and i dont mind dropping an inch or so if it helps handling at all. Should i look into getting something to replaced the kyb's? thanks

If you're looking into getting an affordable strut/spring combo check out the KYB AGX's (not sure what KYB struts you have now) and the eibach springs. Drop is only about an inch I believe. Something to remember though is that for a little more than struts and springs (if you purchase new struts) you can get a good set of entry level coilovers.

the KYB GR2's are pretty much stock replacements, the AGX's are adjustable and decent shocks, alhough racers have complained about short life on the AGX's

assuming your springs aren't sagging and your shocks aren't blown, a fat frotn sway bar is one of the biggest and best handling improvements you can make, it won't effect the ride on the street but really flattens the car out on corners

well the previous owner never said anything about the springs; he was was an idiot so i'm assuming they are shot. i think i'll try replacing those first to see if that will help. i'll probably go with those eibach one's nsr mentioned but i was wondering whats up with the springs on ebay for like 50 bucks? i know they are prolly crap just wanted to see if everyone aggreed or anyone tried them. still wondering about how many miles the kyb gr2's are supposed to last if anyone knows. thanks for the help

You get what you pay for on Ebay, I'm sure they suck.

Ebay springs are garbage and the GR2's won't last if you put lowering springs on them.

also a good alternative to the AGX's are the tokico HTS struts, but once you get them and lowering springs you'd be at Tein Basic coilovers, but the HTS is extremely adjustable (dampening only) and a top pick of japans budget tuners!
