So ill start off by saying i live in alberta, canada. Winters suck. Id say just about half the year there is snow on the roads. So i am driving my moms suv right now and even that slides corners (not on purpose) and slides from braking.

So im thinking. A good setup of winter tires would help my situation when I eventually get my s13. but I would definetly want to lower it. Now to the questions.

With adjustable coilovers I could adjust the ride height so I could raise it in winter lower in summer correct? But I wouldnt exactly be going to the track often with my car like maybe once or twice just to test the waters. So maybe just some kyb shocks with some lowering springs? Then if i wanted to raise it, just slap the stock springs on in the winter?

then with the money invested from not buying 1200$ coilovers I could put it towards possible engine mods or maybe tension rods, control arms and what not for added suspension.

just go with coilovers, you can raise your car for winter and lower it for summer. spring strut combos are a waste of money IMO
