After i got my 240 like 2 months ago.. all i been doing is saving up and geting ready to turbo it. But than i realize the only reason i sold my old car and got this 240 is because i wanna do drifting, so now im hoping that somone in nico could give me some pointers to get me started. What is a drifting suspension set up? what am i going to replace, and buy? My friend say i need a good transmission.. wut kinds of transmission is good for drifting? CLose gear ratio? please help me get started, and share you story of upgrading ur suspension. Thank you.

Theres a forum dedicated to drifting. But before you post there I suggest reading through some of the threads. All your questions would be answered.

i think this thread will work better in the suspension forum.

a lil advice thostart off by replacing all worn out suspension partsI.E. bushings, old struts/shocks.. .. etc..

you can go do either two things at this point. once old crap is replaced..you can get as much seat time with the suspension setup you have or you can go ahead and invest in a coilover damper kit and get as much seat time with that.

once you get enough experience to where you can determine what you need and what you don't need out of your suspension you can start upgrading on what you feel is necessary.

go weld your diff and throw that bish around like a 50$ hoe! you don't need anything else to drift besides rwd and lsd. replace w/e breaks.

i read somewhere here in the forums or even if you google it that there is the "drifting bible" covers everything on the techniques of what to do. Hell i would say that before buying anything. Find a nice parking lot away from other cars and people and watch the drifting video and try some things. Your stock car has enough hp and torque to start the basics. then if you find you like to do it then invest in suspension that the guys above said. once suspension has been upgraded than brakes and then the engine. Because you can have a fast car that puts down on the pavement, but if it can handle body roll or slides or even stopping than youve got nothing. so suspension first, there are great setups here on nico under the suspension link. check it out.
