Hi guys,

I replced my 97 Q45T stock springs with Tein 2" drop on 4 coners. With 18" wheels and 1" spacer at front, now my Q looks much hotter, but after about 4 months, the 90K miles suspension finally quit. Lockly I already have the KYB special inhand and ready to install. The problem is I have no idea which bushing I should buy since I assume my stock 90K miles bushings are getting old as well. Is there anyone can advice me the parts I need to complete the job? Below are the parts I'm planning to order.

KYB Strut Mount

Front Sway Bar Link ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 )

2 REAR Sway Bar kit ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 )

Moog Strut Bellows ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 )

I think I mistake and missed many parts for the job. Please kindly give me any advice to help me not to waste my money

Thanks

PS: Anyone need 97 Q45T stock spring? Let me know free of charge. I also have a 6 months old 350Z stock fly wheel. Free as well. Let me know if anyone interested. ( Ilive in So CAL)

Thanks Maxnix,

I'll give Joe a call today for sure. How about those parts I found from e-bay? Are they worth the money?

Read Wes' posts on modifying (using 3rd party parts) for a G50 suspension.

Many pitfalls, so I wouldn't approach it willy nilly. The rear link set up might well work, and if it doesn't, easy and insepensive enough to replace.

Get the factory boots with bumpstops for about the same price.

Oh true, but even more then.

Be sure to have front bearings and spring mounts also on hand in case you need them.

The stabilizer connecting rods? That's a good question. Mine was too young, but you might inspect them first to see their condition. I have no idea if the bushings are avaialble separately.

How about Energy Suspension bushings for a 90 to 96 300z, will they also fit the 97 Y33 T ??

Maybe on the rear. Might increase harshness.

There is an interesting post about different rear sway bars on the early FGY33.

Hey, guys,

I'm still doing my homework and searching around for the prices, but I found out something weird. The price Joe provide to me is higher than the price that order directly from their web site. Is this normal?

Today I brought my Q to the garage near my home and the machnic showed me that my tension rod bushing and engine mount are also going bad. Can anyone tell me if my 97Q45T be able to use Z32'a tension rod? Is there any better engine mount that I can use to replace the stock mount? Can I just replace the bushing of the tension rod to save some bucks?? Thanks for all NICO member's help.

I thought most Z32 stuff was better suited to G50's. Are they compatible with FY33's too?

Buy the bushings from Joe. if you want, specify the Nismo polyurethane bushing.

Disconnected sway bars? Smaller bearings form lighter cars?

Not sure I see any reasoning here.

All the 240sx/Z32 stuff will work in the rear, with the addition of front tension rods. The J and Y33 use basically the same front suspension so i wouldnt be surprised if the sway bar links worked..

I run energy suspension end links in the rear. They make universal end link kits, dont confuse those for the bushing kits... The 1 inchers should work, ive got it in my posts somewhere. Im using rubber frame bushings with the poly end links and it seems fine to me, i really didnt notice much change in harshness..

You really have no choice unless you want to convert to the nonadjustable but more expensive KYB SR Specials.

hows the ride in the sr's? i'm looking for a solid shock, i'm what you call a spirited driver lol

i also herd that the oem shock is good but when you go to a non touring model shock or after market, the ride quality goes out the window. i have a 99T true or false?

basically i'm looking for a firm shock but i'd like to keep some ride comfort.

btw i did call memory fab and they said they don't carry a shock for my car.

The KYB SR Specials with Eibach Sport springs are little sudden in transitions for the first 5K, but improve after then. Good control, but not cushy like stock

With a t or ae, I wouild keep the system intact and go with OEM.

Installed My KYB special and Tein 2" drop spring today. The feeling of the ride is about the same like my 2003 350Z with 265/40/18 tires. I won't say it's a confi set up, but it match my driving style.
