Well I've been thinking it over and searching many different routes and I've found there are a lot more options than I 1st thought for the 3rd Gen Maximas...not as many as newer ones...but still more than I originally thought.

I think Im gonna start with a suspension upgrade...then exhaust/intake...exhaust wise I think Im going to have to go with a semi custom setup because that dont seem to make many full exhaust systems (header back), that I could find anyway. I'm goin to go with a warpspeedperformance y-pipe, then a high flow cat (not sure which brand yet...doesnt matter really...or does it?) and I havent deciede exactly what from there on...

I have a question about the suspension part thought...actually a request...if anyone could give me there recommendations on suspension setups/companies that have worked best for them I would really appreciate it because I really have no clue as to which ones work best...I'm wanting a setup that will be great performance wise...but nothing that is strictly for the track because, just like everyone else out there...i dont want to sacrifice comfort if possible..lol

ok well this is already WAY longer that i wanted it to be...im sry for being a pain...

THanks

Welcome to NICO! I've never owned a 3rd gen, so I am not much help. From using Eibach products, the ride can tend to be rough while handling is great. Not sure what else is available for a 3rd gen other than Intrax coilovers.

Hey, 3rd-genners, can you give this member some help?

Thanks audtatious...

I think I'm goin to end up goin with Eibach springs and Tokico(<==sp?) shocks...I've seen this combo used many times on the 3rd gen's so im assuming its a pretty stable setup.

Does anyone know where I can get a price on either Mustang SVT rims or 350Z Touring rims??

You won't be able to fit the Z touring wheels on a third gen--I've tried.

You WILL be able to fit the Maxima wheels--which look the same but are narrower and FWD offset. Those can be found on ebay for ~$550 + shipping for a set, which is not bad at all. Even the Maxima wheels are a close shave. The set I test fitted had 245/45/18 rubber on them, and the tires touched the shock tower (barely) in the rear. With 225 wide tires you should be fine. Of course, this was with stock suspension--I have no idea how things will fit once you've got aftermarket shocks and springs on.

Here's a thread I made a while back with pictures of the Z-lookalike Maxima SE wheels on my third gen:zerothread?id=123211These wheels are 18x7.5 and I think 40 offset (I'm terrible with wheel stats so I don't recall if that's positive or negative offset).

Sorry I can't offer any advice on shocks--my third gen is stock, so I have no experience with any aftermarket products for it.

Ok thanks for the heads up about the Z touring wheels.

I was searching maxima.org and there was someone on there who stated they had Z touring wheels on there 93 max (i think it was 93...3rd gen anyway)...now they had a pic of the car...the wheels were like a 6 spoke kinda wheel...and were like a painted sorta greyish silver color...once i get home after work and track ill try and get the pic up on here...but anyway

Yea I originally saw those pics you have in that link on your incessantdoom.com site(im assuming its yours anyway) in your galleries...those rims would look awesome! but i would want to find a way to make sure they wouldnt rub at all cause i want none of that. lol thats a pretty cheap price for them too...so...idk well see...Im still gonna wait a while before a do anymods....i wanna keep her stock for a while...im just trying to plan ahead so i know what i want when im ready for it....but yea...and no problem about the shocks or anything....i understand....but thats for all your help...

Once i get her repainted ill post some pics on here....right now its like a light metallic blue with a champagne bumper, hood and right front fender...I think im gonna go with like a jet black...or a dark dark blue...I'm also gonna repolish the rims...makem look real good! lol

thanks man
