suspension question: thumping sounds from under driver seat

i have an 89 240sx and when i turn a little to the left it makes a thumping noise .. friends of mine said it could be my rotors are warped ... but i think its something else.. another one said it could be something is hitting my driveshaft ... anyone else with this problem or have any idea what it could be making this noise? i can also feel it under my seat ... it concerns me

The only time my car did that was when I hit a curb.. $1500 worth of expensive repair-work later.. No more thumping! My rotors weren't warped, but the passenger side suspension was shot- shocks, tie rods, etc.

where did you get your car checked out .. because i dont know the problem? should i go to a collision place? and if i do have to replace the tie rods .. are these things i can do my self or just go to the shop and pay the 1500?
