There is this part that's like broken. It rattles around when I launch and when I brake hard. It causes wheel hop and it sonuds horrible. I don't know what piece it is but can you guys tell me so I can buy a new one? I think whoever had the car before me did some sorta rigged job. The replaced one side with a wheel bearing and the other with the race or something? Were they trying to do a body lift?! Anyway, I want to replace it with the stock..

Thanks,

David.

holy flunking poop dude!!!! I can't believe that somebody put in a wheel bearing for your subframe spacers!!! That is just nuts. Anyway, whiteline makes replacement bushings that are better than stock. They are called subframe bushings or subframe spacers.

Yes, definately replace that jerry-rigged thing.

The whiteline bushings are a good product. I believe Aeries is a full-scale whiteline retailer now as well. If not, try pdm-racing.

Oh.. Wow.. Thanks. That sucks.. PDM has them but they're like 75 bux. Oh well... Does anyone know how to install them? Do I jack up the car or what? What problems do you think it's causing? I know it causes play and stuff. But is there anything else worse that me be caused by that setup. Some stupid chick had it before me. It runs like crap and it's only got 130k on it. It leaks oil and stuff.... Oh well, i'm gonna get an SR soon anyway.. Thanks everyone..

Also.. I want it to be setup just mainly for drag racing. That's all I do. It comes with 6? I only see a spot for 2? Thanks,

David.

The problem is that that damned "wheel bearing" is installed wrong, if anything it should go on top of the subframe between the subframe and the car :)

there are two more in the back that you can put some spacers in. Installation is rather easy actually, all you have to do is jack up the rear of the car using the diff as a jack point, put the car on jack stands, undo the bottom strut bolts, undo the 4 nuts and 4 bolts holding the subframe to the car (12mm for the bolts, 17 for the nuts) lower the jack and allow the subframe to drop slowly. Once the subframe "pegs" have cleared the subframe, all you have to do is put in the bushings and then do the steps in reverse. If you have a friend helping you it should only take about 30 mins to an hour with basic hand tools.

Does something have to be there at all? Can I just remove the wheel bearing and everything? Without replacing it with a real bushing thingie?

Thanks,

David.

The 6 bushings are for different alignment angles on the subframe. You can set up the subframe to be more of a drag setup, drift setup, or medium setup by aligning and locking the rear subframe.

We will have the spacers in stock in 1-2 weeks. We are selling them for $73.

What brand of spacer? Could you help me set it up for drag. I don't mean 'help' me. But tell me exactly how to set them up? I'll buy them from you no prob..

I got the whiteline and I set the thingie up for drag (both small rings on top) the tires do sit far more level. I'm sure it'll hurt cornering a little but I guess I don't care about that as much as I do going in a straight line. There does seem to be less wheel hop. Thanks everyone..

It actually gets a lot better traction. It's hard to chirp 2nd and I rarely chirp 3rd now. it launches really good now. Maybe I can hit 2.1 60fts now. but it's a good upgrade, I think everyone should get it. (than again I was coming from a wheel bearing.. hehe)
