OK im new to the forums here and you guys seem very hands on with your 240s. i own a 92 with tein HE's the cornering is alot better, but i know that my suspenion is very unbalanced because everything else around it is old...so i decided to replace all my suspension parts, but i only got as far as Tein tie rods and ends and Tein T/C rods.... i havent found any good brands for lower control arms or anything, but if anyone can bring me a list of their "dream" suspension setup, or their actual setup i would appreciate it if you guys gave me an idea where to go with this. thanks

welcome to the forum.

If you are looking to get front adjustable lower arms, I believe http://www.splparts.com/ is the only one who makes them. SPL makes awesome products, expensive - but you get what you pay for.

If you are just looking for oem replacements, check out http://www.pdm-racing.com/ or ask dantech on the Advertiser's forum. PDM sells regular control arms + whiteline bushings.

Adjustable LCA's are expensive, i wouldnt recommend them unless you are really serious about racing your car. i believe they should also be set up by a competent alignment shop, and i havnt been able to find one where i live (a shop that is used to setting up things like roll center). an alternative would be new ball joints and urethane lca bushings from pdm. in the front you are basically looking at the struts, tie rod assembly, tension rods (or alternativly the tension rod bushing), and then the lca bushing and ball joint for the wearable items.

(at the moment my set up in the front includes flt-a2's, spl tension rods, whiteline lca bushings; and oem replacement ball joints, tie rod assemblies, and bearings, and i am more than happy)

you might also want to have your bearings front and rear checked out.

in the rear you could look into either a full bushing replacement, or arm replacement. again the rear lca to me is overdoing it unless you are serious. if you do replace the arms, the bushings connecting them to the hub would still need to be replaced. you could probably also mix and match a little with the arms and bushings, so you may not have to replace all of the arms if you dont want to. but i would talk to spl for suggestions. i suggest this only because once you start replacing all of the arms, their adjustments become relative to each other and you would need a good alignment shop to set you up.

so check out the diagrams on spl's site, they can also give you much better suggestions depending on your needs.

my overhaul last year consited of a coilover install and a hyperflex kit. the energy kit had pretty much everything except for the 22mm rear hicas bar d-bushings. i sourced new front balljoints from McQuay-Norris and bought new oem rear arms with balljoints installed. i also used the tein rod/end combo up front. finished off with a good alignment by a local racer.

for me this is huge leap forward over stock. right now i'm still learning how to tune the dampers so it will be a while before i need to get any more serious. later i may decide to go with adj ruca's and i may get a non-hicas subframe eventually and build it up with some junk.
