Hey Guys,

I've got a 1994 Q45 (base model) with 179K and thinking about doing a total suspension job, the control arms cost a pretty penny (especially the front lower C/arm). Been thinking about purchasing after market bushings and having them pressed in.
Have any of you guys done this and can i get info on the best place to purchase the bushings needed for this job.

Thanks in advance.....

Use Z32 ball joints. Get the seats from infiniti of scottsdale 15$ a piece. Spicer Bjs anywhere you find them about 40$ a piece. Nismo LCA bushings can be had for like $20 a side too. There are a few threads regarding this. When I accomplished this with the Z32 BJS it was ess than $200 for BOTH sides

I don't know about the other parts but the tension rod bushing part number is in the image as ES 7-7105.

Spicer ball joints are fairly common. Rock auto may have them. I think #505-1239 is the part number. Get the ball joint seats at IOS.com Get the nismo LCA bushings at mynismo.com

Just got my oil changed and tech says I have a bad front pass. side lower ball joint- luckily I had read this thread a few days ago and asked him if he could install it if I brought him the ball joint- he said yes......I asked about the seat after reading the above quote and he said I just need the ball joint......can someone walk me through that part? and is spicer worth chasing down vs the raybestos ball joint available locally?

Thanks...a little googleing earlier led me to that same conclusion!

I ordered both the z32 seat and z32 raybestos "professional" vs their "standard" series ball joint from Amazon a few minutes ago.

Probably 60 bucks total? The q45 entire arm was $300 or so years ago. Its a fairly easy fix

ball joints were $24 each, seats $ 11 each......free shipping,gotta love amazon!

Still dont really understand the whole "seat" part.Do you remove the existing seat and replace with the new one,or?

Yes. I know almost every repair on a Q or dated heavy duty import is intimidating but this is fairly easy if you have the tools and or experience. You will be quite pleased with the outcome and ease of the process. I did both sides even though only one was bad. Assuming you are doing both?

tech says only one side is bad, other still tight and based on age of car,he recommends to only do what is necessary as who knows how much longer the car will last? I will have tech do the job most likely,as I moved to a condominium recently and lost garage/driveway work space.
