if the spring is old it will sag...mostly it will droop more on the drivers side...If the shocks are blown it will continue to bounce when it hits a bump.

Try bouncing a corner down and seeing how much it bounces up and down when released. If it stops moving after a time or so its ok, if it slowly rocks back and forth till it settles its blown.Nothing on the car wears and makes it ride higher. They have a decent amount of wheel gap stock, are you sure you just dont have lofty expectations from how people talk about these cars, and blown shocks?remember they are econimy cars, stock they dont handle on rails...and that gets even worse with bad shocks.

blown strut shouldnt make it sit higher though, it should just make it bounce...and bounce...and bounce, after you hit a bump

Oh I know, but the stock springs need no help in making the front look "lifted." And I just kinda attributed the poor handling to blown struts as a guess.
