First off my 92 q45 needs new suspension. I ordered the tokico blues for it. A guy at the local shop said the hardware in the car was in good condition but it definately needed new struts and shocks. I have some mechanical experience, I have installed fuel pumps and the like. How hard is it to install suspension? The weird issue with my interior lights is they dont work unless i have the brakes on. They blew a fuse last night and when i replaced that they worked again. Well tonight they are not working but not blowing the fuse either. The car displayed a stop lamp inoperative message once but it really was not inop. It always says tail lamp inop which is also not true. Is there some sort of sensor that could cause this?

Light bulbs, light bulb sockets burned, light bulb electronic current sensor assembly must all be checked and parts replaced as necessary.

Common problem [to replace bulbs and sockets] from not replacing bulbs with correct BRAND or just leaving them in too long!At the minimum make sure ALL bulbs in rear [including upper stop lamp] are Sylvania LL [long life version].

Rear blubs should be CHECKED annually for overheating signs [melted bottom center contact gets a dished in look instead of a focused out center point.

When you replace the shocks, don't forget all the rubber also. Joe sells as a kit. There are some posts with pictures in the archives.

How are the chain guides? If you don't know, read teh Infiniti Articles posts.

I have gazed on q45.org a bit and just went threw the articles. I went out and checked the lights today. All looks good, the info thing and its warnings doesn't bother me. My main problem is the interior lights only work when i push the brake.. I have to fix this its driving me crazy and I can not drive the q at night. What could cause this?

It could be the little pink box in the trunk.

Its next to the trunk latch, under the rear most carpeted panel.

I kept getting the "Stop Lamp Inoperative" message as well.

Pulled the pink box out, desoldered and re-soldered the pins on the circuit board.

No more message and everything works fine.

The fuse was the top left fuse.. It was electric something or other.. It blew again this afternoon after running all day only coming on when i push the brake.
