suspension help please

i just took my '89 240sx into the mechanic.. he showed me what was wrong and guessed it would probably take about $800 to fix. the control arms were bent and the front brackets were broken. im very willing to find the parts and do it myself, but i dont know where to start. would replacing the control arms and brackets fix the problem? would my alignment still be off? any advice or tips would be appreciated.

ps. i know i posted this in the 240sx forum, but i didn't read the sticky about mechanical problems before i posted.
