Hey, I need some suspension help. I posted hear since I though more people would read it then in the suspension section since its slower so if this can stay here...ya. OK well I need some help. I plan to upgrade my suspension on my s13 and I was wondering if you can help me. This will be daily driven and taken to the drag strip once and awhile. I also want to attend a few drift events to learn a little. Here my thing. What are the suspension components I'll need. I've over whelmed my self. I want to use the nismo coil overs btw. So my question is what will I need to get better handling and not just add coil overs, I want to go a little beyond. I hear I'll need like upper control arm and stuff. Can some one help me come up with a good setup.Heres what I though mite be needed but its a little much-

WAAAAAY over kill. You said you're looking for better handling as a daily driver, and the occasional drag. Youre talking an all out grip/drift setup. No need. No sense spending $3K on suspension to daily drive a stock motor. If you have future plans, then go for it. All you really need/should want, is the Energy suspension bushing kit, and a spring/strut setup. With the Bushing kit you're going to get your Tension rod bushings (which are always bad), and stock sway bar bushings.

Well I plan on a 350whp KA-T setup. So the bushings, sway bars, strut brace, and coil overs. What else will I need or will this be enough and I'll be safe doing it. I hear this is a good setup-coil oversadjustable upper control arms front and back (camber)adjustable tension rods (caster)replace all bushings if they're wornsway bars

Is this good or is what I have enough?

Looks to be a good list for a streetable car with occasional track time.

I'm not sure NISMOdrift240 knows what S-tune's are but they're quite conservative and streetable, but are basically a matched spring/strut combo and really can't compare with real coilovers. But hey, not everyone wants to be impractically low and have a crap ride on the street so .

Edit: Oh, and you don't have FUCA's, only RUCA's.

That's why I picked them , which ,list? the first overkill long one, the second one I made which is just the bushings, sway bars, strut brace, and coil overs. Or this one which is coil overs, adjustable upper control arms front and back, adjustable tension rods and replace all bushings and sway bars?

Tension rods, RUCA's, and bushing replacement are all pretty much a must for any mild-to-moderate suspension build as far as I'm concerned. Strut bars make a somewhat noticeable difference too.

Unfortunately that's as far as I've gone with any of my 240's and I don't like giving advice about stuff I have no personal experience with (traction and toe rods), but something you haven't mentioned is an LSD. What are your plans there?

Edit: Oh and swaybars are a pretty tricky thing; most of the aftermarket ones are truly overkill. Try it out with your other stuff with the stock front sway and a Silvia/Hicas rear and see how you like it.

Hows this-

Will I need anything else like Front Lower Control Arm or traction, toe or tie rods or anything else? Or should what I have be enough?

What's "enough" is all preference. Do what's on that list and see if youy like it or want improvements in specific areas. But you'll definitely not need FLCA's.

And I hate to say it, but at 17, I highly doubt you're a good enough driver to need to worry about a bunch of adjustable links and arms. Getting on a track and/or racing lessons will be far more effective and beneficial.

Well ya, that's what I'm talking about. What I have in the first list seems like I'm building a drift setup car. I mite take it to a few events to learn how to drift but this car will mostly be street driven and taken to the drag strip. SO by enough I guess I mean beyond just adding coil overs, and by OK I mean as if this is a good list and I'm not really leaving anything out so I'll have to replace it later. So far I guess I'm going with this list-

bushingssway barsstrut brace coil oversrear adjustable upper control armsadjustable tension rods

If anyone else had somthing they think its an important part to add please post or if you just want to comment about the setup please do.O and as far as a lsd goes, I'm looking for a 1.5 lsd, Still looking around at brands.

Yea, yea I know what they are (I work for Nissan). I think I may have had a buzz going before I was heading out, and didnt real the whole line. My bad! I just saw all the other adjustable stuff and was like WOAH

They are actually a good matched setup. More for an aggressive daily driver type than hardcore track which is what youre after. Go for em!
