Hey Guys/Gals there is a god because I FINALLY got my shocks, struts, and springs on after waiting about a month (long story)...:ylsuper and here are the results......im really happy with how it turned out. Its sits clean doesnt scrape on everything and now it doesnt feel like a boat taking a corner at speed. I have a long story about the install, well not that the install was hard at all but a situation with wrongs parts & ect:mad: ...but i dont have time to go thru all that right now & ill probably post those pics & story later....till then i just thought Ide share the before and after pics & see what everyone thinks:D

Before....AHHHH! Teh Gap!!

And after....much better:D

Any comments/feedback are as always appreciated:) ...ill try to post my other pics & story later tonight! (spring/shock/strut setup listed in sig)

well....the shocks feel fine, i would love to tell ya about the struts....but im riding on blown factories right now!!....lol, thats part of the story i was talking about...they sent me the one gr-2 gas strut and some black POS strut that wasnt even KYB!! sorry i dont have more time to comment....but even with stock stuts and new shocks the ride is perfectly fine....i take railroad tracks with no problem....ill elaborate more on what happened later & show some pics....but i would greatly recommend this set up for people with a budget...

Alright well my plans to leave got cancelled so ill post the pics now.....well when i first ordered everything & got it home My step-dad and i opened all the boxes EXCEPT one of the strut boxes to look at everything...(i know we should have checked all of them) but anyways...we were getting ready to put them on and my step dad starts cursing and tells me "come look at this ****!!".....heres what i saw

One KYB GR-2 stut...

and then this thing......

needless to say we were pissed off at this point...because its a saturday...the shop i got it from was closed, and nobody else had struts in stock. But we were determined to get the thing lowered so we decided to go ahead and put the one KYB strut on for the two days i would have to wait to get a replacement and just ride around on one factory strut......but then more fun begins when the sportline spring wont fit on the damn KYB strut!!! We played with it and made it "fit"....and mounted the assembly back in....but it didnt look right at all...

Heres a pic...you cant really see (crappy camera) but the bottom of the spring doesnt line up with the strut...

:rolleyes well eventually we just pulled it off and now im running the factory struts up front for now...tommorow when i give that guy at the shop a visit im gonna order replacement struts from someone else and get store credit towards a B&M short shifter....but in the end my car still rides fine so i guess its not all that bad

I thought GR-2s were basically like stock replacements? I read on this forum actually that they will blow or something if they are used on lowered cars~

i wish i could go lower than sportlines, It just wasnt enough for me. The front was lowered enough I guess but I wanted the rear to be more. Like a 3inch drop in the rear would be perfect.

yea.....3 inches would have been perfect, but hopefully if i get some 18's it should eat up what minimal gap i have left:)

I emailed kyb about the gr-2 shock/strut and this is what they had to say:

Me- I have lowering springs for my 1991 nissan 240sx. They are tein s-tech and are rated to lower a little over 1 inch and at most 1.5. I want to know if I can use a gr-2 shock or if the agx is my only option.

K Y B- Our product can handle a mild drop of 1 to 1.5 inches not a sport drop. Recommend the AGX line.

KYB products have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product with a dated proof of purchase. The warranty does not apply to product that is misapplied, abused, or used in racing or commercial applications. The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5")(Sport drops) vehicles or if an Aftermarket coilover shock system is used. so what do you all think?

its all good because i just took the front struts back in today and got my money back because of the mix up, turns out even the strut that WAS kyb was for a nissan mini-van....not my car which is why the spring didnt sit right...oh well, the shocks will do for now and the car rides fine with the stock struts up front (even tho there blown already).......now im ready for my tint, gauges, and B&M shifter:)

But ill put that aside if anybodys got a SR they want to get rid of for cheap, lol;)
