well when i'm going over bumps and what not i hear this clunking sound coming from the front of the car. i did some research i that led me to believe it could be the t/c rod. so i changed it with the tanabe ones and it is still giving me the same noise. i put my car up on a lift and checked all the bushings that i could and none of them were bad out of the ordinary. so i'm wondering if it could be the actual coilovers taht i have. i'm running apexi ws coilovers and they are about 1.5 years old. so i was thinking maybe it is the bushing in the upper hat. or could it be a tie rod

I have that same problem with my S14. My TC rod bushings were shot, I thought that was it, so I got polyurethanes. Still doing it. The car has H&R springs and Tokico blues. I don't see any bad bushings or anything loose. Guess I'll check that top bolt.

if it's a real slight noise, could be your ball joints

What about the subframe bushings? Those often clunk at low speed acceleration and braking...annoying...

ok, I checked mine. Driver's side was a little loose. They are both tight now and I still get that noise. Sounds like it's mostly from the passenger side. Any other suggestions??

My strut mounts clunk like crazy when it's cold but once I drive a little bit and warm them up (Or if it's hot outside), they stop. They do that cause they are old and the rubber is all hard. So your problem could probably be any rubber bushing up front.
