As I have been taking apart my entire rear subframe I notice that there are two places for eccentric adjusting bolts. One is for camber, one is for toe as I remember. Even if you remove the end nut of these you cannot remove them, as they seem to be built with the ends flared out in those match-marked plates. I have removed all the other arms and the knuckle and need to start pressing out/burning out these old bushings and pressing new ones in. My questions are as follows:

1) Are these eccentric bolts removeable/do they have bushings? If so, how do I go about removing them?

2) I ordered camber-adjustable bushings from PDM racing, exactly which arm/where on the knuckle will these go? They are for the upper control arms. but the upper control arm has a camber adjusting eccentric bolt already?

3) These rear bushings seem aweful stubborn, are they burn-out only? Or will I have to bite the bullet and hit the machine shop to use a horizontal press??

4) Some of the bushings seem to have been moved around in an angle during their life in the car, when I install the new ones it appears the arms and knuckle will line up very differently. Will a swift hit with the hammer be my solution?

The bolts going through the eccentric washer are keyed, to try to keep the washer aligned with the similar eccentric bolt flange on the other side of the link. What sometimes happens is that, during torque-up, the washer gets force-threaded onto the bolt, locking it on. Get some vicegrips or something and a back-up wrench, and turn the washer back until the keyway lines up again. Then it should just slide off. Replace it, and when you torque it up, make sure you only turn the nut, not the bolt. I don't know if they have bushings or not.

The metal-lined bushings can take several thousand pounds of force to drive out, and even more to drive in.

Not sure what you mean by #4. Do you mean that the new stuff will hang lower? When you torque up all the bolts, do so with the car resting on the suspension. Be very careful though.

I'm reviving this thread, as I have removed those eccentric bolts and burned/pressed all those pesky old bushings out. They are now at the machine shop, but I did wonder if that VERY thin metal sleeve in the housing is meant to stay in or come out with the new bushings. I left it in, seeing as how it looked like it would take an act of God or an INCREDIBLY precise press to remove it. Thank you for your help~~

It really depends on the diameters of the new bushings. A machine shop could manufacture matched drifts to press out the sleeves probably in less than a half our. In the past I've scoured tool stores looking for sockets of just the right size since I don't have a lathe.
