Hey im new to the site and i figured id see what kind of help i could get, cause i need a lot of it.

i dont really have a huge budget and i was wondering what the best springs would be for the lowest drop without sacrificing handling and ride comfort. Ive been looking at the Eibach Sportline springs but they only offer about a 2 inch drop and 2 inches does not seem like enough and the car would still look "lifted" even on 18 inch wheels. I know full coilovers would provide the proper drop but they are out of my price range for now. Any ideas on how i could achieve at least a 3 inch drop with just springs and shocks/struts?

and my question about the brakes is im doing a 5-lug conversion and ill need 5-lug rotors. the conversion im buying is from enjukuracing.com and i was wondering is the 5-lug is the same as that of the 95-98 240sx's 5-lug cause if they are then ill buy 5-lug rotors that are meant to go on an S14.

thanks for reading and i hope to get some help.

im sure this isnt the only thing ill be posting cause im going to be building it over the year and im sure ill need help.

oh and here is a picture of my baby

welcome, uh I will address the 3 inch drop thing in a second, but I am going to start with the 5 lug.Conversion to 5 lug on S13 requires S14SE or z32 300zx NA rear hubs, and either JDM front S13 5 lug hubs, or S14 SE front hubs, S14 spindle and S14 ball joints with the Lower control arms .as well as 5 lug wheels, and a 5 lug brake upgrade. this one is an easy find, you could have google searched it.

Secondly do you know what a 3 inch drop would look like, and be like if you plan on going on a road that has any bumps whatsoever? I'm just saying if its a street car i would not do more than 2 inches, I have tein s techs which I *think* off hand are 1.75" and I can not pull out of my driveway without spraping my muffler and front bumper, as well as the fact that you would have the tub your wheels, All lowering springs are going to affect you ride comfort, aftermarket springs are made extra stiff for performance, One last thing if you are on a budget why 18s"? 17" is a lot cheaper, and its only an inch smaller...

Then again its all up to you, it would be a lot of modification i would think, although I have never tried it, you may be going for this...

So for the 5-lug ill need more then just the hubs for the front, ill need new spindle and LCA? Remember im not takeing the 5-lugs from another car im buying them new from a site and i dont know if they are S14 SE hubs or not. If they are the same as the S14 SE hubs then ill just need the rotors meant for the SE. Not doing a big brake upgrade just making them work for the 5-lug.

And if 3 inch gives what your showing me in that picture then 2inch is gonna be fine. Im not going for the "ghetto drop" in that picture but i dont want more then an inch between the wheel and the edge of the wheel well.

and your answer to the rim size is because 17 inch doesnt fill out the wheel well good enough looks too small.

thanks for the help. keep your opinions coming like i said i dont know much about this stuff and ill use your info.

The 5 lug hubs available from most 240 performance parts sites will not require suspension peices from an s14. They should just "bolt" in. Before these parts were available swapping s14 or z32 parts was pretty much your only option.

A 3 inch drop is pretty serious though. Depending on your suspension/ wheels you may need to do other mods. If you have the equipment you could take off your springs and use some jacks to give you a good idea of what a 3 inch drop (or whatever you're wanting) will do.
