Hey guys, I was checking over my car because it had a rough idle and poor acceleration. I worked with the connection on the MAF sensor and had instant results to my problem. Car ran good for a couple of weeks and I have been running the regular unleaded through it, but it is getting bad acceleration again. What all should I do to the MAF sensor and/or connection or should I go to check something else?

Well, if playing w/ the maf fixed your problem, then do it again .

Anyway, the connection may be poor (happened to my car a while back also). You may want to clean the connector and possibly sensor.

Take it out and use a swab or what not and drip the alcohol above the sensor and connector and allow it to slowly drip over it. I think it's important not to do it directly on the sensor as to not break it.

Next, what I'm guessing is your maf connector is pointed straight up to the sky, which may have a chance of hitting the hood (I'm not sure if most ppl have this problem, but I had it on my car), so you may want to rotate it slightly so that it's angled.

Secure the connection. If the wires to the connector are exposed, try putting some electrical tape over it to protect it.

Hope that helps.

Also, if your car's been idling poorly a lot, you may want to clean out the throttle body w/ some carb cleaner, and check your spark plugs & wires for co2 buildup.
