Hi Guys,
I just want to get an idea of the average acceleration time of our Pathfinders using 2 types of driving style on 2WD. Make sure the vehicle is already at operating temperature and you are on a relatively flat road. Do 2 to 3 runs to get an average. Be careful! A friend with a stop watch can help but I just used my Blackberry's stop watch application. Also state anything worth mentioning in your results.

Granny-Style
From a full stop, accelerate until you reach 60 Km/h without going over 2000 RPM. How many seconds did it take?

Full Throttle
From a full stop, accelerate until you reach 60 Km/h on full throttle. How many seconds did it take?

I'll go first.

2001 Pathfinder SE (mostly stock)
P255/70/R16 Tires.
Gas tank is at 50%.
Granny-Style: 18.5 seconds
Full Throttle: 7.8 seconds

Dood that is FAST! Unless there's some transcoding issue with the video, at 0:04 you reached 60 KM/h!

i get to 60km/h at 4 seconds and shifting @ 2000rpm it takes about 9-10 seconds (just shot a video earlier today).. thats with a 200 pound sub in the back, full tank and in 2wd, everything is stock (VG33).. only upgrade is a 3" custom cold air intake and its a 5 speed so that helps it out a bit. Haven't tried 4wd.

Here's a video I took a while back. 03 Pathy Chinook, everything stock, no big cargo or sound systems, still with accessories like roof rack and spare tire. I originally took several videos, they were all within 0.2 seconds of each other. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrZK7R_XCWc

(Edit: The trim for the '03 was Chilkoot, not Chinook. In this context, though, there's no difference.)

I originally timed it to be 8.32 secs from full stop to 100km/h, full throttle. Watching the video again, it's somewhere around 3.5 - 4.0 secs to reach 60km/h.

I'm really surprised it takes you so long to get to 60km/h. You do have the 3.5L VQ35DE engine, right, and not the 3.3L? Notice any other issues with the Pathy? Check engine light on?

Densetsu, it's a 3.5L VQ35DE and no I did not really floor the accelerator... only 75 - 80%. I've only had this truck for 2 weeks and it's a dream driving it. I'm afraid I'll break something LOL. Maybe tomorrow I'll try 90% LOL. So far it looks like 4 seconds is the average.

I haven't to this day gave full gas from a standstill, puts a lot of stress on the truck. Pathfinders are definitely pretty quick for what they are though.

no need to worry about breaking anything, i drove mine with my foot through the ground for a while when i first got it and nothing went wrong.. got obsessed with the engine noise after hearing it the first time i redlined lol

For best acceleration, i have fooled around with it, turn off over drive when your flooring it, helps it out alot ive noticed, and also if you passing mid-range like 40-60 or 55-65ish, turn it off, floor it, then let gas go once youve passed and turn it back on.

also before i ever did this, when i would floor it, i noticed my pathfinder would have hesitation before it actually pulled,

my-intake-mod-t444483.html?hilit=intake

i did that to my intake, and it has no hesitation now and goes smooth as glass when you floor it, and im pretty sure it almost gives you the same effect as a CAI when combined with the K&n high performance drop-in air filter i have.

Mine takes about 6.5 seconds from 0-60. I have no proof, but hopefully I will put one up soon.

Mine is slightly faster than Fueler's give or take a minute or so.... 171 stock HP, add Magnaflow exhuast and custom intake and I wouldnt doubt I am pushing 172 to 173 HP..... Come spring I will add another coat of wax and maybe pick up better airflow as well.
