I'm considering switching over to K&N air filter because I heard so many good things about them. How many of you use a K&N air filter in your Q45, and is it worth the switch?
Thks!

Welcome to NICO.

I stick to the regular air filter. Oiled air filter can gum up air intake components - MAF sensor, TB, etc., causing driveability issues.

Just do not do it, many people have had big issues.....I use one in my 84' 300ZX and have been using one for over 10 years, but the Q is not a good fit. Stick to OEM.

Haven't used them, but heard many members complain of MAF issues that get filthy from them.

Wow! I'm so glad I ask--thanks everyone for your imput.

Does anyone recommend a good paper air filter; amsoil, ac delco, etc?

The Nissan OEM filter is of superb quality, and not all that expensive when ordered online. Order half a dozen of 'em, and the shipping costs become insignificant.

InfinitiPartsUSA has good prices and customer service for online orders - and they also carry the other Q45 maintenance essentials (i.e., cabin A/C filters, fuel filters, hoses, belts, etc.).

I second that, as a person that usually wants to "upgrade" the little things you can to get another horse or two, the OEM is very well made. I order 3 at a time which lasts me a hell of a long time :) but they are way cheaper from IOS then the local stealership.

I'm using the Genuine one too. I believe the oem part number for the air filter for your car is 16546-AR000. If you go to link Skibane provided you with for Infiniti of Scottsdale, you can enter the part number and see their price which is $15.62.
