surround speaker problem with XM

Is it normal for the surround sound speakers in the seat to sounds like crap with XM? They sound fine with CDs and with the iPod.

I've noticed that XM does sound bad at times, not sure if it is the source material they are using, or what. Frankly, the sound system in the M is quite poor. I've been told the speakers updated to Infinitis (you need 2 ohm) make a world of difference. That will be my next move ...
