Today i started my blown 300ZX, my friends wanted to listen to it. So we go outside i start it up and as soon is i do, one guy who tagged along started talking stuff about how ugly and slow the 300zx is. This guy brought his stock honda with cut springs and all the ricer accesories you usually see . I ignore him the first few times, and he keeps on talking, knowing that i am at a disadvantage with a blown motor. finally i give in and jokingly ask him to line them up, you didnt have to ask him twice, he got in his car and left to go down a closed road close by to my house. No backing out now,if i did he would whale on me, I didnt mind since the Z is half dead. What comes next is something that came to a suprise to me and everyone who saw it.we line up and do it from a roll at about 20, I beat him by about 2-3 cars , mind you this motor has bad compresion. It suprised me that the motor can still put out some good horespower. After that he went home with out coming back to talk anymore, he went to cry i guess. The moral of the story is that a 300ZX is not to be messed with, unless your packing some decent HP. I was going to trade it but this really changed my mind, I'm going to keep this beast.

haha this guy must have been a complete idiot. thinking a stock honda performance wise could even touch a 300zx. he must have gotten lied to or something about those ricer mods, someone probably told him they help performance somehow. haha

HELL YEA! when was the last time you saw an article in import tuner, or modified mag, on a z32? last import tuner i picked up the front page article was on a damn honda accord. all i ever hear from out in cali is "dude your car is too wide and heavy its not worth fixing up" or "z cars are for classic car enthusiasts, there is no point in fixing them up." also alot of common manufacturers dont make parts for the z32 but make ridiculous ammounts of parts for civics, integras, f22 preludes, and the usual rice models!

did he have an aluminum spoiler? that optimal downforce could have helped him out in the lower RPM range.

Actually this month's issue of Modified Mag features a Z32, this one I believe: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2056686

hm..... did you mean this month as in march? i havent looked at the march issue, but if there is an article on a z in there its got to be a first in a long *** time! but i would rather pick up a modified mag than an import tuner, modified mag seems at least somewhat more mature. lol. but i guess i look like an *** now!

Yeah I am pretty sure it was the March issue of Modified Mag. I agree with you 100% though, the Z32 is highly unrepresented in automotive enthusiast magazines.

in my opinion the z33's, 240sx and the gtR's are the only nissans that get much credit for anything in the U.S. and the only reason the skyline is so popular, is because of the fast in the furious movies, and the need for speed underground video games! they are now becoming more popular due to drifting, as the 240sx, and the z33 gained alot of popularity from the need for speed videogames, and also this new stupid tokyo drift movie, ive seen at least 12 350z's since that movie came out with big *** stickers that say DK (drift king) which was the title of the main antagonist in the tokyo drift movie for those of you where were smart and didnt see it. Ive even seen a z33 with a tokyo drift vynil across the side which i thought was extremely gay!

you don't see too much of the Z32 in the mags now because they are11-18 years old! they used to be covered in the magazines, lots of coverage in lots of magazines, and it doesent help that their prices stayed kinda high, especially with no new z for 7 years, he 240sx was a late bloomer, there for a while no one wanted one, they were the secretary's car and underpowered, the JDM boom started all the SR swaps and suddenly the price fo a used 240 sx was 2 or 3 times what it was, much like the corolla gts, they were available and cheap till the JDM boom, the Z33 gets it's popularity by being first and foremost the new Z, and Nissan has done a good job marketing them and they are still available with a constantly growing aftermarket
