Doesn't surprise me at all. You know AZ would have been all over it if it was (select one)
a. Democratic
b. in California
c. possible to blame Obama for it
d. all of the above
Hey, AZ!
Anyway, those types of double standards you refer to have existed here since day one. That's why opposition exists; Democrats to point out Republican shortcomings and vice versa.
DeLays reaction is typical. After being found guilty there is no remorse or admission that what he was doing was shady or illegal.
We have a city councilman here in Rancho Cucamonga who was convicted of a couple of felony fraud crimes right before the election. His reaction after the first jury was hung (in favor of conviction) was that it totally exonerated him. After being found guilty at the retrial his reaction has been that he was only found guilty because the city councilman over in the city of Bell took those ridiculous salaries. ??? The fact that he was double dipping his salary (billing both city and county full boat for work only done for one or the other), his
signature is on time cards billing for hours he didn't work and his job with the county was strictly a political bribe from a developer through the county assessor who is in court now on a $100 million+ corruption charge doesn't factor into his thinking. It's always a "witch hunt by the other side" and "I didn't do anything wrong; someone else is to blame."
