Seriously. I'm astonished people aren't going crazy over this game. I was very close to buying it after class today, but with Black Friday around the corner, and my SR20DET rebuild project beginning I just don't have the money. Reviewers seem to love it. Then again they were obsessed with Bioshock and I have yet to find the interest to pick up that game and finish...

Bioshock is sweet, but its only single player and is not that long. Dont bother checking my profile, I never played it on my 360.

However, there looks like a lot of playing hours contained in that DVD. I will be picking it up at some point, but probably not before CoD4.

AFAIK there are NO deals on Mass Effect this Black Friday. You're best bet is newegg. I've been tempted to get COD4 off newegg the past couple days, but I think I'll just ask for both these for xmas

I didn't expect there to be deals on games. I'm waiting to buy a TV, not Mass Effect.

Ah, yeah, that's right. BFads.com has helped me a lot, but you probably already know that place.

I'm still waiting to hear feedback from people who have played it.

Knights of the Old Republic sucked as far as I'm concerned, so if Mass Effect is just a shinier KOTOR then I'll pass. But if they fixed the ultra-boring, super-thin gameplay, dull combat, idiotic and insanely boring errand running, and the "why am I even DOING this?" superdull pointless quests then I'll look into it.

if you didnt like KOTOR then you porbably wont enjoy this game. I liked KOTOR, but because of the story (STAR WARS). I just picked this game up and I am about two hours into it. So far its similar to KOTOR...so far so good...lots of bugs tough

i miss my light saber

My friend has like 7 hours into it already, and he says that it is just like KOTOR (he loved that game though) so it might not be up your ally. I know it doesnt interest me in the least bit.

...this game is like KOTOR and more. If anybody remembers a game called star control,,this game is similar to it. I like this game (COD4 rocks too-just got it)...the story the missions and the battle sytem really comes together...if you like new style RPG's then this one is the sleeper hit....all your actions in the game has MASS EFFECT

....i love being a bastard!!! thanks to mass effect I dont have to take the social repurcussions of my actions at least in the game

But, see, that's the problem.I LOVE RPGs. But I hated KOTOR. So I'm not so sure that RPG fans will automatically like Mass Effect, either.

Mass Effect is a good game I got it about 4 days ago and I played it for two days and beat it. So you know it is incredibly short. The game is good though, it has an upgraded combat system and it is PRETTY. There was a glitch in the achievements where you have to do at least 40 side quests in addition to the main story line to get the Achievement where you finish a majority of the game. The problem with that is that there are only 50 side quests. Anyway it becomes a little repetitive after you beat it the first time. There is a cool feature where after you beat the game you can start a new career and play with the character that you beat the game with the first time.

After beating it two days ago I put it down and started watching Initial D for these past two days. I do not really have an interest in picking it up right now, but for some reason I don't want to return it to Gamefly yet. The reason for that is probably because of the fact that I am an Achievement whore so, and I only have like 490 points and if I don't break at least 600 I am not happy (excluding Command and Conquer (F that game)).

All in all if you enjoy and RPG game and don't really mind doing side quests, then this is a good pick, but don't expect it to last to long. The thing is this is exactly what happen to me with KOTOR. You will play once and put it down for about a month and after that you will probably pick it up and beat it again and so on.

So if you guys want a rating I would say it would be closer to a 7/10 because of the reasons I listed. Beautiful game, but not enough substance. Honestly if you can rent it than rent it. You will be happier to keep the extra cash and 5 days is plenty to beat it.

Hope I could help.

I'm digging it so far. I like how they blended in RPG elements to a shooting game. The different classes should make it funb to play around again, and the graphics are great. It also includes one of the coolest loading screens I have ever seen in a video game. I will have to give more input when I get into it more, but I just bought CoD4 last night and I have a feeling it will be hard to peel me away from that game.
