I have heard from many sources now that the toyota supra tt fuel pump flows more than the Walboro 255? is that right? If so, will it fit on a SR20DET?

I know they are direct bolt ons for DSM's... just wondering...

Also has anyone heard of a fuel pump called a Cosmo Fuel pump.... I heard it flows 304Liter/Hour

Thanks for any help

What kind of HP do you want...that would help us better determine what fuel pump is right for you.

A question that is dealing with this. If someone were to buy a higher flowing pump would they run into problems?

I know that bigger is not necessarily better, but I would like to know what the reasoning is for not installing the largest flowing pump you could.

Too much fuel?

supra pump will flow 280 lph i think. i had one on my gsx and needed a fuel pressure regulator to tame it. yeah dsm guys run cosmos. phase two says that the r33 pump will be good for 500hp. http://www.phase2motortrend.com/fuelsystem.html

The stock supra fuel pump will flow enough for about 550HP but I wouldn't try to push it that far. I suggest a Walbro GSS341 fuel pump. It's what is used in the higher end supra fuel systems...should flow plenty for your application.

That makes sense for me. What is the cost difference between the two?

Upgraded Walbro used by Supra owners and the Supra Pump itself.

I can just see the Walbro being less expensive then me going to the toyota dealership.

You can pick up a used supra fuel pump rather cheap but you'd be better off buying the Walbro pump. You can pick up one of those for around $115. It flows 255lph by the way.

I use the 300zx (z32) fuel pump. Perfect upgrade to the sr20det. Flows 255l/h if I remember right.

i think one of the reasons that dsm guys like the factory (3000gt, supra, etc. made by denso i think) fuel pumps is because of noise. that audible noise emmited at idle phase2 mentions. i have herd that some people with walbros complain that they are louder than they would like, and i have herd people with walbros say they are as quiet as stock. i don't know what to think, but that is what i have read.

Another reason people like buying stock fuel pumps off of other cars is because you can get them CHEAP. And if you can hear the noise at idle, just turn up the radio...problem solved :)

If you can hear the noise, then it'll probably be even louder in your sound system.

I have never heard of a 240 running a Supra TT pump. I'm sure you can make the pump fit with some custom work to the pump assembly. The TT supra pump is very good. The OEM Supra fuel pump is probably the most potent single fuel pump readily available for boosted applications, bar none.

This is quoted from an associate on an email tech list I am on....

"I had Kinsler run some bench flow tests on a brand new OEM fuel pump this week. I asked them to make separate runs at 9, 12, 14, 16, and 18 VDC, logging the fuel flow and current draw from 40-100 psi in 10 psi increments.

The results were really surprising. You would think that doubling the voltage from 9 to 18v probably wouldn't double the flow, and you'd be right... the flow didn't double, it more than TRIPLED, while the current only doubled.

At 18V, our little OEM pump can flow 570 lbs/hr at 75 psi while consuming only 22.2 amps. Hmmm, that's enough fuel to do 900 BHP at 30 psi boost.."

this qouted from another guy on the list...

"Yes, I was running 18v all the time. I agree that it wasn't the brightest thing to do. I only had it that way for about 8 months, then switched to a Walbro."

That means the pump can atleast sustain 18volt over 8 months and pump a schnazz load of fuel.... :o

The Nissan Z32 pump is LOUD! I have one in my car, and I wish I got the Walbro. We have installed dozens of Walbros and they are no where near as loud as the OEM Z32. Plus from Courtesy Nissan the Z32 pump is around $260, while the Walbro is $119.

hahaha... man... its some incredibly rediculous number... there wouldn't be any point... it could pump your entire fuel tank out in 30 seconds..
