Supra speakers in a 240sx?

My friend has a twin turbo supra (1994) and his car has Bose speakers. For some reason he wants to give them to me for free. (think hes getting better ones) Anyways, I know Bose makes great speakers, but will these fit my 240sx? Are the Bose stock on supras, or is this aftermarket? I have a 98 240sx SE, will these speakers be better than my stock ones?

Do you know what sizes the speakers are? You have 6.5 inch in the rear and oversized 6.5 inch in the front. They proboly will be a little better then your stock ones, if they fit.

These are the production numbers for 97/98 240sx's.

1998 2178

1997 3655

Hmmm.. my car was produced in december 97... so i guess its one of 3655 or 5833 total, even though its a 98.

Ok. First of all, why are you wanting to install speakers that are 10 years old? Also, the older Bose systems from the factory are CRAP, IMO.

Seriously just save a 100 bucks and go buy a nice set of 3-ways from circuit city or something...will sound 100 times better than the bose and will fit right in.

Even if they do fit they may be the low impedance type, like used on the z32 and various other bose equipped cars. This means they will fry out the power source in your head unit if hooked up, or just send it into protection if it has that ability.

Sorry, but what do you mean by "low impedance type"? If these speakers are worse than the ones at best buy, won't the best buy ones fry the head unit before these?

i like to test batteries with my tongue, how about you? i used to electrocute myself as a child with a clown lamp, i would get bored, turn the light on, unscrew the bulb and stick my finger in it till i got shocked, and did it again and again and again till i got tired of it....i geuss thats why im afraid of clowns
