Cliffs notes:

Democrat Charles Rangle has never paid Fed Taxes on a rental house he bought in the Dominican Republic in 1988. He is now claiming that over those 10 years “Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, they’d start speaking Spanish,” so the reason he has not paid taxes in 10 years on rental income is because he did not understand what the property managers were saying at times.

So, 10 straight years he just thought "aw, forget it. Not worth the problem of getting them to finish in english nor to have someone translate".

Way to go!!!!!

Here is the article from Telco's fav site (they must also dislike Rangal) and investigation into his "understanding of spanish".

Well, Rangel is another one of those guys in Washington that's been there too long and figures he's exempt from the law and/or rules and regulations because Congress exempts itself from almost every law they pass.

When will people learn to eliminate all retirement benefits from any elected position and force these "lifers" to return to the private sector and live under the very laws they passed?

Whether you even get a statement or not is irrelevant. Even on a car loan or credit card you are responsible for sending in the money when it is due.

Maybe he could have gotten an illegal ESL second grader to translate for him? For below minimum wage prices?

Hell, *I* could translate well enough to tell him he needs to mail a check.

Pathetic.

I support term limits on all these clowns. Dems and Reps alike - You get 4 years to make a difference, do a good job and pray for re-election.

Term limits don't work though, unless you bar them from running for any other office. Here in California we get to choose from the same people over and over again because they just take their war chests to an election for a different post.
