What does everyone think of the signal 350z with sr. I think its a cool idea but i think i would of went with another 6 cylinder.

I think it's an absolute waste of both the car and the engine. However, maybe that's just my bias towards the VQ talking. No one seems to comprehend what the VQ is capable of except the extremists who've actually done something with the engine (such as the one drag racing team that has a 1000+ WHP one that ran in the 8's using the stock block, crank, etc.)

So I say...why waste a good 350Z, and why waste a good SR?

They chose that motor to save weight for drifting. The motorex 350Z is also sporting an sr. I'm not sure I would have done it either but the whole weight savings idea is a valid concept.

Chris first did the SR into Z33 while he worked and drove for Signal.after he left, Signal suddenly introduced this new Z with SR.

Chris blew his supercharged VQ motor, that's why he put the SR in there. saved a lot of weight and has great amounts of parts available for it. so far it has been working great.

Not to mention V engines are harder to work on and parts are more expensive for 'em. Inlines rule!

I think its kind of a waste as well. It has both its advantages and disadvantages I guess. Its been done with a lot of cars. For example....here's a couple pictures of a Z32 with one....insane setup and a ton of power. But just something about a 4 cylinder in a big heavy car like a Z makes me scratch my head.

I swear I can count 6 spark plugs in a row in that pic, but I will trust you. I am having a hard time seeing the ones in the back to tell you the truth.

i think the idea of a hybrid Z33 is awesome, but why lose two cylinders and displacement?

theres a kid at my school who claims he took out the 350-V8 from his camaro and dropped in a Z3 6-cyl

i just thought that it was wierd, in the engine bay of the z33 w/sr) that they brought all the oil catch valves from the head to the inside of the z33.. wonder what is going on inside the car that they had to do that

if they wanted cheap power and cheap parts, they shoulda went with a sbc. Cant beat the power potential nor the part pricing.

i know chris forseberg -.- well not personally, but my friends do... he is not a motorex driver now.. he drives for falken... how do i know? well my friends shop that is opening is going to be HOUSING his car... yes an s15... yes it will be housed in our garage. That is how i know... and he was the motorex driver check out http://www.motorex.net you'll see him on there.

but one hting i didn't know... signal has an sr20 powered 350z? i thought only motorex had one? that is probably why all the confusion? but i know for a fact... forsberg was MOTOREX's driver and not signals during D1 this season.

EDIT: Btw here's the link straight to him: http://www.motorex.net/forsberg.html
