Is it possible? Im thinking about lowering the QX4 then supercharging it. What do I have to do in order to supercharge it?

I have always been intrigued by this video on youtube. You can hear the supercharger whine so im thinking its real. But those arabs have tons of money to spend on stuff like that. It is very possible to do, if you have the money to pay for it. Here is the video

the only way you'll go fast in a qx-slow is putting Chicano 13's on the mofo. You'll be doing 120mph in no time.

I think this topic has been pretty exhausted. There are only two ways to supercharge your Q.

1. Purchase 350Z supercharger kit and swap upper/lower collectors, intake manifold, and heads with 350Z parts. You will lose large amounts of torque but you'll have your 300HP.

2. Engine swap.

It's really not economical, your best bet is to buy a new car.

I say you twin turbo it. This way your mom will never be late picking you up from Cotillion.

Long story short it cant be done in our cars and be worth it

Ive got 2 aftermarket turbo cars and both had big obstacles, but all overcomable.

The 3 HUGE hurdles you have in this are

1: our transmissions are weak, horribly weak and couldnt take the added power and they dont make aftermarket internals/clutches. you cant add gobs of power and expect the transmission not to grenade

2: engine management: they simply dont have aftermarket support for more fuel and ecu programming in our cars, mega squirt is an option but not a cheap one

3: your parents probably arent going to pay for this, and will want there vehicle back after realizing there son is slowly destroying it

The 2001 five-speed was marginal with the 3.5L motor. That's why the 2001 five-speed (like mine) has a 3500-pound towing
capacity while the automatics are 5000-pound, and why the sticks were 250HP but less torque (automatics were 240HP).

The six-speed they mate with the 4.0L in the Frontier today would be a better choice.

Would it even be possible to put a manual transmission or 6 speed into a qx4??

That would probably make me keep my car if that could be done!!

I've got an '01 PF that came from the factory with a five-speed, but there's a lot of minor differences.

Dunno about swapping in a six-speed. First issue is mechanical, you would like need to have a drive shaft fabricated (there are people
that have the right jigs to do that). Then you have the engine management issues. The computer often does different things in
different gears.

about the engine management, couldnt you rig something like an aem standalone engine control thing, like one designed for either a 350 or maxima etc, because then i mean you could probably tune more in the favor of torque because its a heavy suv, but also if you did put in a turbo kit, you;d be gaining a lot of power anyways,

If it would be possible to put a 6speed in the path, im wondering from what kind of car etc. custom driveshafts arent too much either.

It would be fun to make a performance SUV such as the Jeep SRT8.

Its not as bad as everyone says..

if the slushbox can tow 5000lbs, it should handle more power as long as the torque converter holds.

Greddy Blue Box can be used for fuel management. Exhaust should be upgraded.

Like said before.. look to maxima threads for research. If their V6 can be boosted, so can ours. Get ready to have a budget then multiply by2
