I am soon to come up on some money. And I need to redo my engine. I need something new, but not too crazy. really streetable, with good power. I dont like drag racing ( i almost hate it). But i was thinking of soing a rebuild on my KA, but with forhed rods and pistons, performance rings and seals, nice set of ( i think nismo makes some for thwe ka) cams. a nice port and polish with like a nice 3 angle valve job, or 5, im not sure on the detailed differences. and then putting a nice blower setup on it. Then id probably take it down to Jim Wolf for tuning. I dont know how much power i will get ( im hoping for around 275-320), but i like the idea of the blower, i mean everyone has a turbo in one from or another(KA, CA, SR). i want to have a different exhaust note, etc. I have alot of hookups on part prices and engine work, and even the piping and customizing of the blower setup. does anyone know who i could talk to about this, or someone that has done this kinda thing, or any kits out there?? any info on this subject would be appreciated. i have a zenki s14 with 124,000 mi on it. im goin to UTI soon, and i want a reliable setup to have at school. thanks

Difficult to market and hard to support product, not to mention expensive.

Do it if you have the $, otherwise follow the Turbo-ed herd.

i like the idea of constant power, no lag. and i was also wondering about the options i have for puting a 6 speed transmission in, like maybe from an S15???

Why would a 6 speed transmission be beneficial?

the gears are shorter, that way i also have a little higher top speed, and it would be all around better for drifting. Like if i downshift from 3rd down to 2 with the six speed, my wheels are really gonna spin

for one, what the heck is a FORHED rod........ ne ways, area 51 farbications was making a kit for the 240 id contact them , and there was a guy on here that did it, but I think he had to get rid of his AC, and the six speed doesnt have a higher todspeed, just another overdrive gear for fuel milage, fourth gear on most or all trannys is 1:1, direct drive, anything over that is a reduction and overdriven. and for performance, stick with the 5 speen imo

and just to throw it in there, what if i also changed my final drive ratio. like swithch to the z32 or the j30 LSD. maybe get a kaaz, that would change a bit about the six gears, just a thought, im probably completely wrong about this. but doesnt a supercharged KA power plant with a six speed transmission and the different diff, sound kinda unique, maybe even with a custom body kit. but i see all your points, thanks for eveyonnes info....

Its nice to dream

convention vs. uniquenessproven vs. theory

All I have to say is, mod with a grain of salt, keep in mind there will always be haters. No matter how much $ you waste getting to your final destination, it'll be worth it. (maybe)

Just Internet Rumor.

It would be a utter waste of money to put a SR 6 speed on a KA. At least $1000-1500 to get the transmission to your house = too much money just to have an extra unnessecary shift.

true true, i just talked to one of my friends and we both came to the fact that its a waste of time and money, but are there better 5 speeds around than the one i have with 124000 mi on it?? it costs sooo much to rebuild one like 1500 bux or more

beat it till it breaks, even with 300hp it will still probably last at least another 50,000 miles. Nissan wasnt joking around when they designed this transmission :D

I was just givin ya crap man, i knew the button was close....., I would rather have the OS giken gearset for the KA , and yes they did make 1 , prototype or production im not sure, but i got the pics to prove one was made, it was with their prototype turbo setup with a turbo bigger than my head..... aahhhhh dreams

OS giken, a manufacturer in japan that makes very good gears and gear sets, at some show they made a close ratio gear set for the KA and a turbo kit for it also, got one mounted and one all pieced out on a table , its pretty sweet, give me your email and ill send it too ya

He won't do it, shut this thing down. I'll bet 10K he'll absolutely never do this successfully, probably not halfway. The kind of people that do these things actually do them and don't go on a forum to ask people how to. Pure and simple.

actually I dont knwo if anyone 3ever mentioned this but if you custom fabricate the A/C mount to fit the supercharger on the late model MR2 then it works. Ive seen it on a sr20de b4. Looked pretty sweet.
