Hey guys Im new to this forum, just bought my 1st nissan. 08 altima coupe 2.5L. I have experience with superchargers from a previous 91 camaro and I most recent vehicle was a passat 1.8T that i upgraded to a higher quality aftermarket turbo. Ive started to search for both supers and turbos for the altima and wanted some informed opinions from guys who have done it and maybe make some recommendations. What Im looking for is a pretty low boost set up, 5-9PSI max. Looking to hopefully get that meager 175HP to the low to mid 200s. I want to keep the car mostly stock tbh. Budget is 1000-1500$ for this project. Not looking to boost to the point of needing new internal engine components to make is safe and reliable. So here are my questions.
1. What HP range can I expect from a 5-9PSI set up on the QR25 Engine?
2. What is the max PSI boost I can reasonably do without swapping out engine components?
3.Any recommendations on Turbo or Super that provides these low PSI without breaking the bank and fits the coupes engine bay?
4. Any other must have upgrades to the engine bay to compliment this project?

Thanks guys in advance , been a big participator in the audi/VW/LS1 forums in the past and am looking forward to delving into this one too. :wavey:

The Manual can handle it but the 2.5 CVT is very weak and would blow pretty quickly and $1500 is to cheap even if you're doing it all yourself.

I had to do a CVT to Manual swap on my 3.5 just to get a turbo on my car.

Good to know Iv never dealt with a cvt transmission before. How much did the swap cost you? and your'e saying the 1500 is too cheap, in your opinion how much would a decent build cost me?
