yeah thats what i was thinking... 900 ft-lbs with 'only' 480 HP is nuts...

Something to be said when the same engine "lunches" 5 gearboxes because they cant keep the ATF cool enough... simply awesome!!!!

Thats phenomenal but why only 480 HP? I would think the HP number would be closer to the Torque figure, But I never built a engine in my life so what do I know. :)

Its because he's using an over driven eaton M112.. Same SC they use on the jag XJR.. Makes GOBS of instant torque, i bet that thing is pure stupidity...

I know Raana and Mike and was at comp on the weekend with them. They have just had a new motor arrive as they melted the forged pistons in the current one. The trans problems are more about the trans not being built correctly as TH400 can handle way more if built right. Seems they have solved that problem.
All they are doing is fitting forged pistons on otherwise stock bottom end.
Oh yeah, and Raana can drive so don't think it is just a cool truck with a nobody driving it!

Did they have issues with stock pistons or did they go straight to the forged units?

Hmm if they're melting pistons, needs more fuel?

old thread and sorry to bring it back, but darinz, are they using stock rods? i don't see you mentioning rods and the article doesn't mention rods either so that makes me think they are...
