Centrifugal superchargers are basically a crank driven turbo. IMHO it's the worst of both worlds. The compressor has a narrow range of effeciency and doesn't make much boost until the higher revs. There only advantage IMHO is packaging.

If you're going to supercharge, get a positive displacement. Some sort of roots or twin screw.

1.0L 110hp!! What did that come in? Or was it a concept engine only?

Open deck, boooo! Those rods look like 3/4 size FJ20 rods though, good stuff!

Holy crap. I didn't know the MA09 was an open deck block. I'm really surprised they put that much boost on it and used that design. I wonder if it was for the extra cooling capacity?

^ No. I believe it is a sort of semi-closed. Kinda looks like a chevy bowtie block.

Nope, still considered a closed deck block. Most of what actually determines the deck type is the process that is actually used to create the block.

Or the gayness of said auto manufacturer. Open deck blocks are hilarious. I'll stick to my iron closed-deck blocks thank you.
