Ok I have been looking around to see if anyone has put a supercharger on a 300zx. I have a 1990 300zx n.a. and was thinking of removing the ac pump and building a bracket and put one of thos supercharger right there. It seems to me it would fit there of coarse I would have to do some moding on the pipes and air mass sensor but just a dream right now. Let me know your ideas please.

There have been people to do it. There was a guy on here with pics, and he did it exactly as you described. That was about 2 or 3 years ago IIRC.

Yeah this idea popped into my head at one point too. Eventually I realized (and most people pointed out) that it's cheaper just to do a TT swap. If you just want to be different and really like superchargers then go for it. Assuming you can weld and such you should be good to go. It's kind of similar to doing a single turbo setup because of all the custom stuff you need (intake piping, intake manifold, etc.)

Well damn. When I rebuilt my n.a. everyone told me it is not possible to convert my n.a to a tt. Well they said it would cost way to much and I would be better off if I just bought a tt. Now im hearing that it is a lot easier then people thought. The sad thing is I put just about enough money into my na that it could have been a tt. I spared no expense on my motor because I didn't want to sell my car because I have had a lot of cosmetic work done to it. Like full body kit qnd custom paint and didn't want to do that again. Well I guess I will just be stuck with having a stroker z lol. Its not slow but a tt would be more hp. What else could I do to squeeze more hp out of her.

To convert a NA longblock for FI use you need the following: Low Compression Pistons & Wristpins.

That's the list.

Depending on what components you use you may need things like oil squirters and such but basically the pistons and wristpins are it. Looking at what you have already done I would say it's not a bad idea for you to go ahead and build for FI if thats what you're looking for, if you can afford it of course.

Sorry to threadjack but I've got a question for NoLimit,

If I'm using stock TT pistons in an NA block, do I need TT oil squirters or are NA ones okay? I know the TT ones are aimed differently

I'm not "NolimitZ32" but IMO,

Stock TT pistons, use TT oil squirters
After market TT pistons, use NA oil squiters

True, but if you are going through all that work, you might as well get some nice forged pistons instead of the stock TT pistons which are the weakest link on the DETT, a set of Wisecos will run you around $600 with wrist pins and rings, will give you a wider safety margin when making extra power and REQUIRE N/A OIL SQUIRTERS just as you said. On top of this if you are going twith stock TT pistons than the TT oil Squirters are no huge expendature. Also NA squirters can be converted to TT and TT to NA, I am running TT squirters converted to "NA" since i'm running CP pistons. Conversion takes carefully changing the angle of the bend of the tube, granted it is easier to go from TT to NA than from NA to TT since the TTs have a speced angle of spray and the NAs are just a 90* bend.

If any of you guys are serious, I have a set of 6 TT Pistons complete with wrist pins and rods that I can give, free of charge (just pay the shipping) to the right individual. Here is the deal, you have to actually be using them for a build, you will need over-sized rings and you may be a slight bit out of spec as I think 4 of the 6 are grade 1 so make sure you have grade 1 bores first. Also you gotta understand that I am not in the US right now and will be asking my dad to dig through a bunch of my stuff that's in storage to get these so don't ask unless you really do need them out of respect for my time and my dad's.
