Well, as most of you know, my 2002 Q45 has the Keuylian supercharger kit on it. Last month, I lent it to a friend of mine who went to a honda car meet in Seattle. He street raced several cars. Good news is that he beat most of them including turbo Civics and Integra. He also raced the new M6, and it could barely pull away from the Q45. The bad news is that he blew the supercharger. I have now decided to pull the supercharger out.

I will be building a low compression motor in the next few months and a high performance transmission, as well as rebuilding the supercharger.

COOL!!!! I've always wondered about these supercharged Qs. I've never met anyone online who actually had one, as they all were on dealer lots or on eBay for some reason.

Another one bites the dust.

Doing the low compression motor should be a great starting point for a more robust engine.

So the VK is holding up fine, but the supercharger went to pots? Sounds good, you know its good when everything but the motor is breaking!!

Still a stock transmission too?

How much boost are you running. Id think if you keep it under 10lbs you dont need to lower compression...?

No kidding... Never head of someone blowing the S/C before the motor.

What exactly let go in the blower?

Not too sure, but I think the bearing in the blower got overheated since it uses the engine oil supply. The supercharger rebuilders I spoke to usually fill and cap off the oil reservoir as the engine oil can get too hot and damage some components that then result in the failure of the bearings. I was running 8 psi on the blower and plan to run 15 psi once the compression is lowered. The transmission is still stock, there is some slip but we installed this system with 103,000 miles on the odometer.
