Super Street dissing the KA

i got the april issue of super street today and was angered buy something i found. in there tech q&a section they put this in an answer.

"The Ka is such a great engine . Not only do you gain 0.4 liters of displacment, you get weak pistons and rods to go with it. High revving is overrated. Long stroke with 6,500rpm redline is the way to live life. Not to mention how loud and clunky sounding th KA24 is. You'll always think your motor is blown when you start it up in the morning. Then you can slap together a turbo kit, boost 4psi, and hope the engine doesn't blow. You mustbe out of your mind. The KA24 is the way to go. If you must swap throw in a single KA24E form the '89-90 models. That'd be sweet. Let us know how this goes."

I just got the mag last night and whoa was i surprised..my respect for super street has gone down the drain.....the D16 has to be the worst motor on the planet when compared to the KA24

Yeah, the technical articles in Super Street are normally so informative. Were they trying to say "if your automotive skills begin and end with neon lights, much like our contributors" you'll probably blow up a KA if you try to turbocharge it?

I have found Modified to being a good middle of the road magazine, decent tech articles, chicks, and some rice thrown in. deffinately not top nitch but its always rather large and has alot of diversity. SCC is still my top favorite! I just ***** slapped my roomate for recieving a subscription to "super gay"

All those damn magazines suck if you want some good tech info sit your butt down grab the mouse and keyboard. Start the clicking and search on the 'puter until the cows come home. I get pissed everytime I pick up one of those rags and see some rice krispy eatin, crack smokin,overpaid, wannabe tarts write some stupid article about how he thinks the honda civic is God's gift to mankind or throwing your KA out of your American 240sx for some high revving, expensive a$$ SR motor is like reaching Nirvana. Grassroots Motorsports magazine has some really excellent tech articles. Just renewed my subscription with them for another two years!

Maybe if we will get more respect from Super Street when we start slapping b16 heads into the KA and spend $3,000 for 20 hp! I stoped reading SS like 4 years ago and the rest of Primedia when Modified came out. Modified picture quality is 10 better then Primedia.

Did anyone see that Dsport article( I love DSport btw), but writing the drifter for cheap(18 big ones), with a turboed ka that was supposedly 91x96 making it a 2498cc. On a DOHC! 800rpm limit, 22psi, and only 301whp.
