Should run like new or better.
Earlier this week I was lazy, cold, and without a snow brush, so to clear the snow off my windows I rolled them down and back up. They were all reluctant to come back up (not that big of a surprise during Canadian winters); but the driver side one would only come up a few inches before it gave up and rolled back down. It took three tries -- with me helping it up -- before it'd fully close. At the time, I shrugged it off and told myself "I just won't use the windows in the winter".
I do remember doing this with my '03 shortly after I got it, but this is the first winter with my '04 and it completely slipped my mind to try this until I came across this thread. I finished off the half can of silicon lube I had into the tracks for all 4 windows. They're still a bit slow (actually, probably "normal" speed for -20C temperatures), but they're all way faster and show no sign of "giving up" like they wanted to before.
So yes, this certainly helps out. At least it has in the two Pathys I've had. It obviously won't fix bigger problems, like failing motors, but at $3 for a can of silicon lube it's a cheap fix to try.
