car is a z31 with a rb20det. Turbo xs bov ( non recirc ) , stock turbo, and was running stock psi when the following took place.
just recently got my car on the road, drove away a hour with no issues to go camping for the night., and started to drive back. Stopped in to top off the gas ( Wasn't sure on my milage, wanted to make sure i had enough to get home ) . Started driving down the road, hit 10 psi on the stock turbo, and instead of my BOV going PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT! ... It was shorter and sharper, like PSHT ! Car bogged down, stalled, pulled into the nearest spot and let it cool down ( make sure it wasn't running hot ) Started it up, goes to 1500, wants to stall, have to give it some gas every couple seconds to keep it alive. If i put the car in gear and try to drive it , it will want to stall, and even if i get it to 3-4000 rpm and ride the clutch, the second the clutch is disengaged, it stalls.
On the cold side of the intercooler piping, the coupling that joins the piping to the intercooler was rubber, and was a bit weather cracked. I'm thinkning that it finally let go , but i didn't have a chance to look at it.
nrrba once again.
