So I bought my 07 g35 coupe about 15 days ago. Today I was cruising down 76 in Philadelphia and of course having my usual fun of just listening to my baby go. Then all of a sudden THWACK! f***KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK rock hit my damn windshield. The crack is not big at all but those $hits spread. I like my G to look gorgeous. Do i have to replace the whole windshield or did god invent something for this.

i have usaa insurance....when my truck windshield cracked, a guy came to my house to fix it.

It depends on where it is. From what I understand, there is a small area directly in front of the driver where they will not fix it - have to replace. I've had small chips/cracks fixed before for around $25.Just about any car dealership can give you the name of somebody that fixes windshields. sorry to hear about your windshield!

i lived in pa for 20+ yrs and I-76/I-476/I-276 are the worse roads i ever drove on....i blew a tire out near allentown when i had a dodge neon....i pulled over immediately......over 50 percent of the tire was missing....

Get it fixed at a place that does auto glass. Price will be about $30. The chip doesn't always turn into a long crack, but it is a nuisance, especially if it's a star right in front of your face. The resin that is injected during repair has the same index of refraction as the window glass. As a result, even big chips almost disappear.

If you have glass insurance and it is simply a small chip or small crack, then it may be fixed in place for free. Many insurance companies will pay the small cost for you.

Now on the other hand if you decide to replace it, I have been wondering about the nature of the oem windshield compared to a replacement. My windshield for example is also numbered and registered.

It is a small like almost hole in the middle of the windshield...there is no cracking yet, so I don't know about replacing it even though it is tempting since it always catches my eye. Does anyone know estimated prices on the replacement of the windshield?

More than likely your insurance policy covers the glass repair/replacement - double check that.

Also, don't sit on your hands - get it done as soon as possible before it goes bad.

In Florida all insurance policies are required to fix windshield glass for chips or replace the entire thing if it is cracked..

I need to have mine done as i just go a crack about a week ago.

If i get pulled over i could get a ticket for it being cracked
