Hey guys,

My power steering belt has been squealing/squeaking/whatever you want to call it when I turn the wheel to full lock, so I figured I would take a crack at tightening it a little bit. I've never done this before, so if someone could point me in the right direction or even give me a quick tutorial on how to do it, that would be great.

Thanks,
-Alex-

Rotate PS pulley till you can see the top pivot bolt through the slot.
Place (I think ) a 14mm socket on it (may be 12mm) and break it loose, then a couple of turns more. Not all the way out, just a bit.
Find the power steering tension bolt, 12mm I believe. If you're under the car with your feet out the front, it will be to the right of the alternator, I think.
Tighten that and then don't forget to tighten the pivot bolt above.

If someone wants to clarify, feel free. I haven't done this in 4 years and I'm going on memory here, lol.

Bought my Z last year it's a 95 NA 5 speed w 68000 miles, I just did the 120k timing belt kit and I'm putting the accessory belts back on. I don't have the adjustment bolt on my power steering pump. The assembly is there just not the bolt to tension the belt properly. I'm going to get a new bolt on there but the threads don't stick through the bracket. My question is where can I push on this thing with some leverage to get the bolt through enough to get the new nut on?

Also, It has an underdrive crank pulley, I'm not sure if that makes it more difficult or forces the ps pump to be closer to the crank pulley not allowing the adjustment bolt to reach through the bracket. I know when I loosened it the stud the tensioning bolt belongs on was pointing in the wind direction.

Problem solved, it's supposed to be a bolt and the bolt is broken... I'll be replacing it ASAP.

This has been a great sounding board. If you've read this far, thanks for reading gold star for you!

Just a heads-up that a so-called Zombie Thread such as this one (using a 5 year old post for your question) will seriously limit your views and responses.
Best course is to just post your own thread and question, easy to do!
