i have a stock s13 blacktop with a t25 with SS lines. it only whines when i'm a little hard on the throttle. but if i'm easy on it, you can hear it spool up like normal.

it still builds up a strong 9psi and kicks in like it should. i checked shaft play today and everything checks out perfect. spins freely with no bent fins and does not make contact with the side walls. i get no black/white smoke after start up and all the SS lines are nice and tight.

the only thing i can think of is when i bought the SS lines, the return line was not like the t25 with the banjo fitting, it was just a regular screw on fitting. dunno if it was made for a t28 or something and has a restriction on the fitting and causing oil starvation to the turbo. they're TAKA lines if you were wondering.

i'll see if i can take a video so you guys can see what i'm talking about.

thanks!!

I think the Taka lines do have an oil restrictor...

I thaught the Taka lines came with the restrictor as well. Maybe do some searching on that and that will tell you for sure if that's the problem.

make sure the coolant lines are hooked up correctly. also check for exhaust leaks before and around the turbo. and check for boost leaks

i emailed some people and they said that the s13 TAKA lines do not have a restrictor but one can be purchased.

now can someone show me where the restrictor would be mounted and which line it would go to?

i'm thinking that the banjo fitting, the one i didn't i have, was replaced by that restrictor. hmmmmmmm

IIRC you dont need the coolant line on any journal bearing turbos. IE the stock turbo.

last night dawned on me to check for BOV for some reason.

a little adjusting and BOOM whistling is GONE!

thank you god that i didn't reverse the lines and i had a blown turbo.

hope this helps out someone in the future! never read about adjusting the BOV

MEERRY XMASS!
