im debating on ditching the hicas and using the non-hicas pump that came with the sr. whats involved in removing the hicas? how can i install the non-hicas pump on the hicas car? what lines need to be blocked, what needs to be removed etc.
my sr came with a non hicas pump, i bought a sr hicas pump & bracket from a forum member. when i tried to swap out the pulley with an after market set i have, it turned into a nightmare (pulley set below) that pulley will not come off, i tried every kind of pulley puller, soaked in pb blaster for days, used acetylene, still won't budge. is there something that i am missing here? i had a buddy come down, who has much more mechanical knowledge the me, to try and he had no luck either.
what i don't understand is why the sr non hicas pump is held on with a 19mm nut, while the sr hicas pump is pressed on, does anyone know if the pulley in the pic will even fit the hicas pump? the p/s pulley's are the ones on the top right of each set. it seems to me they will not fit the hicas pump, but i cant get the pulley off to see, the ka and sr hicas pumps look identical to me, besides the bolt in the back of the ka pump.
