I want to swap out the super hicas out of my 1993 240sx hatchback and put in a non hicas rear end out of a 1989 240sx coupe. can anyone tell me if this is possible? I already know about tomei's super hicas eliminator kit but that only stops the hicas from working. I want to swap the whole thing out. Thanks for the help!

Should be possible as long as you have all the correct parts from the donor car. I just did poly bushings in my 91 Hicas, and I learned a thing or two. I never realized that the Hicas cars don't have rear toe links since the rear tie rods serve the same purpose. Also, since Hicas cars don't have the toe links, the rear spindles are different than a non-Hicas car. I didn't notice if the Hicas rear subframe has mounts for the toe link or not. If it doesn't, then you will have to swap rear subframes, spindles, add the toe links, and remove the hicas rack, etc.

Hmm, actually it doesn't really seem worth it to me. Why are you swapping out the Hicas system, instead if eliminating it? Is it just to save the weight, or do you have other reasons?

Everything ziggy said is right, as I've found from my own HICAS elimination.

I eliminated it to save weight and reduce complexity since the car will be for track use only.
