Super HICAS Help, I feel no difference

I drove a 1991 240sx SE non-hicas car for 4 years until it was wrecked last year (not my fault! ). I got a new car last december, 1991 240sx SE WITH Super HICAS. When I got the car it was not in driveable condition but after I swapped out the gas tank (it was rusted out) it runs awesome. Cant beat that for only $1200 but thats besides the point.

From what I recall, just driving the new car through my neighborhood when I first got it, the HICAS light would come on telling me it was working. Now, I get no HICAS light. This is after I swapped out the gas tank and I also lowered the car with springs by about 2 inches in the front ONLY. I have not lowered the rear (partly because it doesnt look too bad that way) but could that be affecting the HICAS system at all? I also feel no difference in the way the car drives from a non-Hicas car. How can I troubleshoot this?

maybe ur low on ps fluid? check it because mines used to be on all the time but filled it back up and regularly comes when engaged.

I will check the fluid level but had a hard time understanding what you were trying to say.

So, does the HICAS light come on when the hicas is engaged and working properly or.. is the light there only when something is wrong and for diagnosis?

The light comes on when something's wrong.

The Hicas light comes on because something is wrong with the system. I know this because i just pulled the fuse in my car, and now the light stays on all the time. I don't personally like hicas...

Maybe the bulb blew out. That would explain why it used to be on and how it mysteriously just turned off.

Thank, I was under the wrong impression that the light came on when hicas was in use. I am an idiot, thanks!

The light went off most likely because I topped off all the fluids, power steering included.
