Hey whats up, names Atif, 17, and I'm from Chicago! Dunno if this is the right section for this but w/e lol. Decided to join because I'm picking up my new 2001 Infiniti I30 black on black in the next couple days!!

I'm new to Nissan forums but not to others. I currently have a 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC with some basic bolt-ons and I'm a moderator on the local Chicagoland Prelude Club forums. I'm also on Honda-tech, h22squad, chicago racing forums, etc. My uncle and I also have a Supra which we are workin' on; 1994 Supra N/A Hardtop painted Kinetic Blue Pearl. Car's bring daily driven as of now but should be stored after we pick the Infiniti up

The I30 has been my neighbors car for quite some time, a nice older guy who takes pretty good care of it. It has 156k on it and is in mint condition! I'll get some pics of it tomorrow. He's moving to Vegas and was about to sell it to Carmax today for 1700 so I was like f*** that! Save it for me! lol. I'm his mechanic so I know most stuff about the car but also wanna know how to gain power and the common problem with these things. My friend had a 97 Maxima and I know his transmission clutch packs or something went out so his car would only drive sometimes, and I know he had some oil leaks but wanted to see what else to look out for especially with that many miles. Most are highway but still. I also know these engines are a PITA to work on so if anyone has tips, just LMK!

Hope to be on here more often and learn some mroe things about these engines!

Some pic's

Welcome to NICO!

I wouldn't say the VQ30 is particularly hard to work on at all...in fact I'd say the opposite.

As for the miles, 156k is nothing, especially if it's been well maintained.

Welcome to Nico . Looks like you're getting a great car for a great price. Be sure to post pics when you get it.
