the star washer, dont know exact name but thats what it looks like, has popped off the top of both of my g50 sunvisor posts. there is a very stiff spring that goes between it and the visor mount. any help on re-assembly would be heplful, I wanted to ask before I broke something. I did do a search, 6 different ways, and came up empty.

I tried searching too, but I can't find a thing... not sure why. There have been a couple of fixes on this. I believe T3 uses a tap and dye set to put threads on the shaft, and then put a nut on. My solution was to grind down the plastic collar a bit with a belt sander effectively making the spring weaker by compressing it less between the retainer (star washer-looking deal) and the collar. I'll keep looking for the thread from several years back... it was really good.

Historically amazing that 95% of the failures we get asked about were well known, identified, and solved back in 1993...............15 years ago.

Event the 94-96 models were totally known 10 years ago.

Many are seeing their second round of identical failures from previous repairs and parts replacement.
