Hi all...

I am about to purchase a well maintained 90 Q45 in a few weeks and was wondering about a few problems with it...

#1. Sunroof won't open. Dunno why. Just told that when the buttons are pressed, the sunroof doesn't move. I've looked around for a new motor, but have came up empty.

#2. The passenger window falls down over time (A few weeks.) This isn't a problem for the car since it has been garage kept. I am just wondering if it is the track or the motor.

I want to do all work myself, seeing how I know how to do the electrical motor work (replaced auto glass on site for 5 years), and I don't want to pay the Infiniti dealer to do work that I know how to do.

Thanks...Jmattick

O/T: For anyone Indiana... Is it just me, or is there a lot of Q45 owners in and around Indy. I am from Shelbyville, and I see quite a few... Just wondering...

1.) Call Joe at http://www.everythinginfiniti.com for the motor (ad on left hand column). A search on sunroof should reveal a post on repair procedure. An excellent post by Tangalora on sunvisor repair will show you how to get started.

2.) Probably the regulator. Call Joe again.

Done a VIN search? Know about the guide issue? Might want to read some more if you don't.

Welcome to the best source on the web for Infiniti information.

I bought a good used one off ebay last year for $70 but found all I needed to do with mine was lube up the tracks. If you need it I'll sell it to you for that. Good luck.

If you hear the motor running, try giving the roof a little help by hand. If that gets it working, you can adjust the clutch on the motor.

The window slipping sounds like the regulator (about $70 for the part and very DIYable) - the motors are pretty bulletproof on the Q. Welcome to the club!
