Sunroof Weatherstripping

Is your Sunroof Weatherstripping falling apart or in need of replacement? Well since Nissan no longer sells the sunroof weatherstripping, and finding it new is pretty hard, I've been looking long and hard for this item. After searching for a while, I talked to my Uncle (who owns a restoration shop and deals with these kinds of things). We found the solution!

On the main page if you click, Shop Online > Specialty Extrusions, the first Item on the list Part #: 70-2860-52, or under Windshield and Back Glass.
Its 32.00$ plus shipping and you only need 10 of the 15ft that's supplied. The weatherstripping fits perfectly but you will have to cut it to size. It looks OEM also. Note: You also need to get some Weatherstripping Adhesive. In the next day or so I will try to have pictures of my sunroof with it being used. I'm still in the process of putting together.

Thanks a lot for this info I really need to fix this problem with my sunroof. Let me know how it turns out please and also does it make that horrible noise that comes from the sunroof when its closed go away?

oooh yeah that screaming high pitched sound on the highway? I have to wedge somthing under my latch so that it gets tighter......I hate that sound tho

yup thats the one and the other noise it makes is when im going slow and i make a turn it makes a weird sound I cant really describe lol. it sounds kind of like someone crunching a bag of chips.

So i got the weatherstripping on, but 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive takes forever to dry, so i gotta wait awhile. On to some pics tho. Mind you the brackets that the sunroof swivels on arent put on yet, im just waiting for the Adhesive to dry.




Sits nicely going around the edges.



Im probably going to have to cut some of that section off to make the bracket stay on, because it seems as if the brackets have there own gaskets. When it dries I'll figure something out.
