This 1997 240sx I'm picking up has the sunroof panel (cover for the glass) off the sliding track, whats my odds on replacing the track or cover its self? I dont own the car just yet but asking this cause it bothers me a bit. Much thanks!

You have to drop the headliner down or totally out of the car to see why it jumped off the slide tracks. You may be able to repair the guides or you may find you will have to replace that piece which can be expensive. ($300-400)

Sunroof works fine its just the interior cover piece that blocks the sun is off the track and goes wherever it pleases lol. Yeah, when I get the car I can snap some shots and do a how to if I remember since this is a fresh subject. Should have the car next week if the checks are done hastedly .

I'm not talking about the actual sunroof its self, the actual cover(interior piece that is the same color as the interior and can be pulled over to cover the sunroof.....it blocks the sun from entering the car).

well yeah i know, its most likely just little plastic pieces that broke off. Then again, the top side of the sunshade is metal soo idk.I would call the parts warehouse and see if they have the individual pieces. A whole new cover is almost $300 http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=2Part sites like that don't have every little part listed. I called this place before for a specific part and they seem to have a good idea and have more detailed part pics than the site does.

There are the little parts I highlighted in blue. One way or another, you're gonna have to take the headliner down and check what is actually broken so I say do that and check the pic again. Here's a link to the full picture: http://vanillaslice.info/image...s.jpgGoodluck with that

is there any company that makes a pre fromed metal weld in patch to get rid of the sun roof and seal its opening permantly?

i know most would just take it to a body shop and get a custom pice but the places where i live wanna Rape you in cost for any kinda custom work no matter how small. i can weld but i cant form sheet metal for s*** with the tools i currently have.

Kinda looks like a big seringe type thing onside is a activator the other side is the epoxy. Good Luck with getting rid of the sunroof.
