Sunroof not working properly! :(

All of a sudden my sunroof isn't working properly. It doesn't close or open completely when I push the button. The motor sounds fine and is working. But when I try to open it, it only slides open about 1/4 of the way. When I try to close it, it does this weird thing where it closes then tilts up, tilts down, tilts up again, tilts down again and then slides back about 1/8 of the way leaving a tiny bit of it open. Seems like the timing is off or something like that. I've read on here about some sort of "reset" you can do. Would that work for this problem? Anyone know how to perform a "reset"? I looked in the manual but the steps they listed don't work. My warranty is out so I'd really like to avoid going to the dealership. HELP!!!!
